NO LONGER USING THIS BLOG!!!! CHECK OUT MYSPACE!!!!

Sorry for the temporary confusion but I'm no longer using this site.  If you want the latest updates for me and the things I'm involved with go to the various Myspace pages:

Captain Punishment / Mac Welch / Me & B Productions -http://www.myspace.com/captainpunishment

Special TV - http://www.myspace.com/specialteevee

It has become easier to check the same thing everyday instead of hoping around to these other sites.  So check us out on myspace now.  There are updates, CP stories, pictures, and videos.

Work , work, work

Things have been like a roller coaster for the last three weeks.  And if I didn't have a mound of laundry in my bedroom, a counter full of half drunk soda cans next to a sink full of dishes then I would write more but not now.

Here is the fast, fat guy, freakin' recap:

-Work the 2 jobs -NNS/World of Video
-Catlyn who stayed with us over the summer leaves for Philly
-Amber comes to town for a week
-We shoot a part of Karl & Bernie with Amber while she's here. (Mike is out of town helping the folks)
-We shot a tiny bit with Amber for Season 3 of STV
-Amber leaves (good visit, we saw some shit, enjoyed her company)
-Mike gets back in town.  We shoot the second part to the next Karl & B
-I work back to back graveyard shift at NNS (because of the California Wildfires) during the shooting of that
 K & B
-Bryan Welsby comes to town which is great.  God times, good fun, good friend
-With Bryan here we shoot a part of Karl & Bernie 3
-We hang out and explore the city with Bryan while Mike works graveyard PA work
-We shoot the second part to Bryan's Karl & Bernie stuff
-We shoot a few bits with Bryan and Willie Sweets for Season 3 of STV
-We do a pub quiz.  Bryan comes up with most of the questions
-We work and then throw ourselves into the Halloween Parade to shoot some Karl and Bernie webcast footage.  Bryan is the Penguin from Batman Returnsand I am Elvis.  People go bonkers over Bryan's costume.  Stopping him constantly to take picture with him.
-Bryan leaves I work.
- I fall asleep in my office while mastrubating.  My sleepy (and angry because my snoring woke her up) wife wakes me and helps me to bed.
-I awake to find myself buried in housework.
-I get up then jack off without falling asleep

So there you have it.  Once I have another second I will come back.

-Blah
-Captain Sleepy Pants

P.S.
I head into the final and so far best book of the Harry Potter Series.  Yay!

Ah writing how I've missed thee....

So in the last week I've been running around working at both CBS (As I write this I'm actually at CBS "working" and this is what you can do in your own down time if you want.  I LOVE THIS FUCKING JOB!) and WOV while trying to get the apartment ready for the visiting Wichitians coming soon.  Amber arrived yesterday safe and sound then Welsby arrives on a few weeks.  Then MJ arrives at the end of December. WICHITA INVASION!!!!  Everything is moving right along.  On Thursday I turned 32 years old and had a nice realization as I sat in my office (with my favorite smoking device) that my life is going really good and I'm on my way to accomplishing what I want to do with myself and so I said, "You know what, fatty?"  You are sitting here in your office (which happens to be my favorite place in the whole world to spend my free time) and not only am I sitting in my office but I finally have an office to sit in.  I never had an "office" in all the time I lived in Kansas.  The trailer I had was 2 bedrooms (and so the computer was in the living room) and one room was my son's obviously.  Before that roommates and what not.  The closest thing to an office was when Bailey and I lived together and one of the rooms in our apartment was an office but at the time I wasn't really working on "office type things" if that makes since.  So I didn't soend a lot of time in there.  That and I was workin' my man a lot in my room.  So the point is that at 32 I'm finally in my own apartment, in my own office, in Jersey a.k.a the New York area (Hell, I've been here over a year now fuck), I've got a pretty good part time job with CBS (which is moving onward and upward each day they let me come back as I mentioned earlier), I'm doing what I love to do in my spare time still (Until this movie shit pays me to do it full time), and I'm about to start the show up again.  The other night I finished a very ruff script to what may be the next episode of Special TV.  And when I say "ruff" or "may be" what I mean is that when you write between the hours of 1am and 7am you always need to check your work because who fuckin' knows what you actually typed but provided that I wasn't in the "Twilight Zone" then I think we're heading in the right direction.  I just haven't had the time to give it a fresh read thru and grammer check, yet.  Maybe tonight.  I was having some issues at first on what the show's new direction and finally I had a breakthrough walking down the street the other night.  Now when I say "direction" I don't mean changing the theme or format to something like "Little House On The Prairie" or some shit.  I just mean how to move forward with proudction in New york and so on.  What to do first?  Where to do it?   So as I walked down the street the other night stewing over things like: "Well how can I do this and that?" or "But the cast isn't the same" or "How can this work?" Then I finally stopped, took a breath, and said (silently to myself of course) "Hey dickhead, just write.  Stop worrying so much about it and just FUCKING GET TO WRITING YOU FIDGETTY MOTHER FUCKER!"  (I'm hard on myself)  So that's what I did on Friday night/ Saturday morning.  I started to go to bed and an idea hit me that I thought was pretty funny (as did the wife as we lay there giggling back and forth for a minute or so).  So I finally realized I could not fight the urge any longer so I got up and started writing.  I stayed up and worked my way through Episode 301 and a few bits for a second, maybe third depending on how it all lays out.  However one of the new things I want to try with Special TV this season is to make the episodes 22 minutes in length.  The previous episodes were were around 10 to 15 minutes which was fine (because thats all the STV site could handle at the time) and so that was the formula we stuck to.  But as Mike and I have been talking (Mike is taking a more active roll in producing this season since before all he could do was be a silent executive producer) and with youtube and myspace running wild, we think its a good idea to make the new episodes the normal length of a standard 1/2 hour network episode.  (22 minutes because you have to leave room for commercials)  So we'll see.  Finally after I stopped being such a GODDAMMNED TIT BABY and got back to basics then it was just how I remember it.  So yeah STV is in the works.  Keep a watch on all the sites (including this one) for information on upcoming stuff.

Like I said Amber is here and has started her vacation.  We shoot a part of the next Karl & Bernie short tomorrow with her.  We ran lines last night and rehearsed with Bailey today before I came here to work. Once tonight's shift is over then I'll be off most of next week while she's here.  I hope to do the same for Welsby and eventually M to the J  (We'll see) But so far everything for Karl & Bernie is ready to go.  I also plan to shoot a little something for STV with Amber while she's here but I'm not quite sure what that is, yet.  I don't want to pile to much on to the schedule since Karl and Bernie is also going.  So I'm trying to find small easy things that won't be to hectic.  I mean shit the girl deserves a fucking vacation for Chrissakes.  Don't want her working the entire time she's here.  Same for Welsby who will appear in a Karl and Bernie piece also (the script was finished last week and should be really funny) so we'll see.  Hopefully I can get something good going on.  I think it should all work out.  As for now I must try to actually work.  But fuck it man they hired me.  I'm sitting right here ready to do something but its dead like fried chicken on Sunday nights.  So anyway that is all for now.

Much love,

Welchie

So what's the haps mother fucker!

Ahh here we are again struggling to find time to write.  Well  this shit ain't new.  I'm always busy blah, blah, blah.  Tell us something we don't know.  So I guess its been so long that I don't know where to begin.

I guess we should start with the end of the summer.  Jesus!  Anyway, Liam had a pretty good time up here, I think.  As usual with my son he is always evasive on what he is thinking (emotionally-but ask him about a game and wheeew) so he played it cool until the end.  That's my boy.  "So son, what'd ya think of New York?"  "Eh, it's alright, dad."  You know.   Anyway, once I talked to him after he was back home with his mom I could tell that he did enjoy himself.  He kept telling me about shows he was watching that were based in New York and he could spot things that he had seen.  The summer was very quick but it was safe and we all had a great time.  We spent his last day here at Coney Island playing at the beach.  That was when I said to him as we floated in the water: "You wanna know why I love it here.  The beach is 30 minutes away."  I think next year will hopefully be even better.  Now Liam is with his mom in Montana and is back in school full swing.  He started about week after he got back.  Not that he is thrilled but what's he gonna do about it.  So yes Liam is well.  The summer was a blast.  Got a lot of work done.  Things went really, unexpectedly well.  I miss my boy.

So now we move on to my father.  My dad got himself a nice staff infection (that he got back in the spring but ignored until it got really bad) which caused him to be in the hospital when I was in Wichita dropping Liam off.  Let me take this moment to say that if I didn't get a chance to see people while I was there it was because I was fully on "Dad-watch" while I was there.  I spent the first half of my week going back and forth between home and the hospital.  Then once he got out and we got him home,  we needed to help him  get around (because he couldn't walk from the surgery obviously) .  So like I said, "Dad-watch."  While I was there it seemed like everything was healing but in the last few weeks his ankle has gotten another infection (not the same kind but fuck) so it appears he'll have to have another surgery soon.  Which did not thrill him at all.  He is really down.  I try to call him a couple of times a week so he can fill me in and I can listen.  He's scared as hell and the reality that he could possibly loose his foot is rearing its ugly head.  Right now they keep hoping for the best as do I.  More to come on that in the following weeks.

One of the other pieces of big news since I arrived back in town (the day after actually) I HAVE A NEW JOB!!!!  Yes, I am a freelance editor for NNS (Network News Services) in the CBS building.  If you've read Jason Bailey's blog before you will know what this means because its where he works and he helped me get the job.  Before I left I asked good ol' JB to scope out the freelance situation for me and while I was gone he did and wa, la.  A few emails later and I'm heading for training the day after I get back into town.  The short of it is I recut news clips for stations all over the country.  The pay is great but its freelance so its only a few days a week. (At least right now)  But the hope is to work there a few days and finally get off my dead ass and get this shit together.  However NNS is great, the work is cool, the people are kick ass, so its a nice fit.  SO THANK YOU JASON BAILEY!!!  Thanks for lookin' out man!!!!  With this gig (which so far is going real well after a few months) I should be able to get things rolling.  And I am.  Right now I have to work there but still at the video store because as a freelancer you're not guaranteed a number of shift a week so  World Of Video is my security blanket.  However, I'm only there a few days and  so far its all worked out.  Soon  hopefully I will go to one job but for now eh, it'll do.  The cool thing is that at NNS I can make in 2 days what I can make in 5 at the WOV.  So kick fuckn' ass.  Onward and upward.  Plus as my little friend arrives from Wichita next week I can afford to take most of the week off.   Man I love this place!!!!!!!

Speaking of Bailey, the creative juices are flowing all over.  If you haven't seen it yet the Karl and Bernie myspace page is now online and the first short is out.  What the fuck is Karl and Bernie, you may ask?  Well this is an idea Jason had for writing a few shorts about these 2 slackers ( Me-Karl and Mike-Bernie) and their misadventures that basically amount to nothing.  This one was Karl and Bernie and the call phone where the boys find a cell phone and then argue over answering it.  So a couple of weeks ago we shot the first installment of the series (possibly a feature) and it went pretty well.  We learned a lot about New York shooting.  Got some lessons on how to communicate with your set location contacts.  (I fucked up)  Anyway so Bailey made a Karl and Bernie myspace page, cut the short and we're off and running.  I'm really pleased with it and the scripts for the next two installments (featuring some Kansas acting friends that are visiting soon) and I think this is really gonna be a interesting project for all of us to sink our teeth into.  Plus its good to see Bailey back in the saddle doing what he does.  Like me Jason in the last year has been getting used to New York, working forty hours a week, and trying to finish his feature (Gracie Rose-shot right after CP) so its good to see him hungry with a new project.  So check out Karl and Bernie on myspace or the films on consignment page.  We keep plugging away, by god.

As far as my stuff.  I did finish another cut of Captain Punishment.  It looks really good.  Its in good shape.  Still a couple of scenes that need work but its close to being ready for the Special FX and graphics.  Which after much debate (I've been fighting tooth and nail to hang on to it myself) I have come to the realization that I need to find someone to finish the job for me.  I need to concentrate on getting this face out into the acting seen.  Auditions (or the lack there of-which is totally on me) have become my bane and are haunting me around every corner.  So like I said I need to get the movie to the point to hand it over to someone else to finish the job.  I still don't have an ETA but I'm hoping sometime next year.  Keep your fingers crossed.  I know we have a time crunch for e time factor on the jokes but we work as hard as we can and do what we do.

I've been thinking a lot lately that its time to start Special TV up again.   I miss it.  I always loved working on the show.  I've got access to the means (equipment wise) to do it but there's just one little problem.  I'm the only original cast member up here.  So how do you start the show again.  Do you address the issue?  Ignore it?  I'm not exactly sure yet but the ideas keep piling up and that pink elephant still lingers in the room.  Now is the time to get the move on.  We have around 150 subscribers on youtube.  We are getting more and more fans on myspace.  Its definitely time to get some new material out there.  I'm not thrilled about starting this solo but for now I think that its best to get while the gettin' is good.  So I think that next month the journey begins to start the show.  Because fuck if we can get this a moving then maybe some of the original cast can join me.  But I definitely want to get a start on this because sitting here with this great product and doing nothing isn't smart.  Its a waste.  All that being said I would like state that as I move forward I'm not trying to forget about the past or all of the people that were involved but we got to do something.  And I think if I start shooting new stuff its better than letting it lay doormat.  So soon.  New STV possibly.  Cross your fingers.

Also as I look at the pile of song lyrics lying here I'm finding it harder to ignore the Beaver Fleas.  As I've been plotting the new STV stuff the Beaver Fleas keep popping up.  So as I finalize things with the show I'm getting a hold on this new interesting comedy venture so be on the look out.  I've been saying it for years but I've never had such a grasp on it as I;m getting lately.  So look out because the Beaver Fleas are coming!

So that should be it at this point.  Work, work, work.  Oh, also I have recently changed the mysapce, youtube, and this blog info to Me & B productions.  I decided to do that for my own self promotion.  You can still find everything you need to know about Captain Punishment and whatnot.  (In fact there about 50 new CP pictures on the Me & B myspace page now so check it) but I need to also showcase myself and some other things so it makes since to put everything under the production company.  Then I can show off my personal clips, reels (once I get them cut), headshots...blah, blah, blah.  I also changed my email.  So for those of you who didn't get it before here it is again.  You can email me at:

meandbproductions@gmail.com

I thought that was little more professional then phatkidd75.  Phatkidd doesn't scream success.  So yeah check out the new look to everything.  Its time for yours truly to start maximizing his New York opportunities.  So in recap:

New STV soon.
Beaver Fleas stuff soon.
New finished CP soon.

Also I have been reading the fuck out of the Harry Potter books.  Yeah I said it!  I fuck'n LOVE THEM.  Harry is my new magical friend and I love going on his magical adventures.  So eat one!  We took Liam to the "Order of The Phoenix" movie this summer and shortly after that I found the first two books on sale so I got them (trying to get him into reading more).  After the first chapter of book one I was hooked.  I am now in the middle of the 6th book and will soon finish the series.  So yeah I love Harry Potter so fuck you!

Much wizardly love!

Welchie
