| | So in the last week I've been running around working at both CBS (As I write this I'm actually at CBS "working" and this is what you can do in your own down time if you want. I LOVE THIS FUCKING JOB!) and WOV while trying to get the apartment ready for the visiting Wichitians coming soon. Amber arrived yesterday safe and sound then Welsby arrives on a few weeks. Then MJ arrives at the end of December. WICHITA INVASION!!!! Everything is moving right along. On Thursday I turned 32 years old and had a nice realization as I sat in my office (with my favorite smoking device) that my life is going really good and I'm on my way to accomplishing what I want to do with myself and so I said, "You know what, fatty?" You are sitting here in your office (which happens to be my favorite place in the whole world to spend my free time) and not only am I sitting in my office but I finally have an office to sit in. I never had an "office" in all the time I lived in Kansas. The trailer I had was 2 bedrooms (and so the computer was in the living room) and one room was my son's obviously. Before that roommates and what not. The closest thing to an office was when Bailey and I lived together and one of the rooms in our apartment was an office but at the time I wasn't really working on "office type things" if that makes since. So I didn't soend a lot of time in there. That and I was workin' my man a lot in my room. So the point is that at 32 I'm finally in my own apartment, in my own office, in Jersey a.k.a the New York area (Hell, I've been here over a year now fuck), I've got a pretty good part time job with CBS (which is moving onward and upward each day they let me come back as I mentioned earlier), I'm doing what I love to do in my spare time still (Until this movie shit pays me to do it full time), and I'm about to start the show up again. The other night I finished a very ruff script to what may be the next episode of Special TV. And when I say "ruff" or "may be" what I mean is that when you write between the hours of 1am and 7am you always need to check your work because who fuckin' knows what you actually typed but provided that I wasn't in the "Twilight Zone" then I think we're heading in the right direction. I just haven't had the time to give it a fresh read thru and grammer check, yet. Maybe tonight. I was having some issues at first on what the show's new direction and finally I had a breakthrough walking down the street the other night. Now when I say "direction" I don't mean changing the theme or format to something like "Little House On The Prairie" or some shit. I just mean how to move forward with proudction in New york and so on. What to do first? Where to do it? So as I walked down the street the other night stewing over things like: "Well how can I do this and that?" or "But the cast isn't the same" or "How can this work?" Then I finally stopped, took a breath, and said (silently to myself of course) "Hey dickhead, just write. Stop worrying so much about it and just FUCKING GET TO WRITING YOU FIDGETTY MOTHER FUCKER!" (I'm hard on myself) So that's what I did on Friday night/ Saturday morning. I started to go to bed and an idea hit me that I thought was pretty funny (as did the wife as we lay there giggling back and forth for a minute or so). So I finally realized I could not fight the urge any longer so I got up and started writing. I stayed up and worked my way through Episode 301 and a few bits for a second, maybe third depending on how it all lays out. However one of the new things I want to try with Special TV this season is to make the episodes 22 minutes in length. The previous episodes were were around 10 to 15 minutes which was fine (because thats all the STV site could handle at the time) and so that was the formula we stuck to. But as Mike and I have been talking (Mike is taking a more active roll in producing this season since before all he could do was be a silent executive producer) and with youtube and myspace running wild, we think its a good idea to make the new episodes the normal length of a standard 1/2 hour network episode. (22 minutes because you have to leave room for commercials) So we'll see. Finally after I stopped being such a GODDAMMNED TIT BABY and got back to basics then it was just how I remember it. So yeah STV is in the works. Keep a watch on all the sites (including this one) for information on upcoming stuff. Like I said Amber is here and has started her vacation. We shoot a part of the next Karl & Bernie short tomorrow with her. We ran lines last night and rehearsed with Bailey today before I came here to work. Once tonight's shift is over then I'll be off most of next week while she's here. I hope to do the same for Welsby and eventually M to the J (We'll see) But so far everything for Karl & Bernie is ready to go. I also plan to shoot a little something for STV with Amber while she's here but I'm not quite sure what that is, yet. I don't want to pile to much on to the schedule since Karl and Bernie is also going. So I'm trying to find small easy things that won't be to hectic. I mean shit the girl deserves a fucking vacation for Chrissakes. Don't want her working the entire time she's here. Same for Welsby who will appear in a Karl and Bernie piece also (the script was finished last week and should be really funny) so we'll see. Hopefully I can get something good going on. I think it should all work out. As for now I must try to actually work. But fuck it man they hired me. I'm sitting right here ready to do something but its dead like fried chicken on Sunday nights. So anyway that is all for now. Much love, Welchie P.S. Harry Potter rulez!!! |
